GenSet on a Maiden Voyage

South Wales based power equipment specialists, GenSet plc, are enhancing and expanding their supply of power generation equipment, with the imminent introduction of a new range of built-in generators, designed specifically for use in vehicles and portable structures.

Entitled the Voyager range, these cabin-power generators will compliment their existing PowACcom product, which is already very popular with portable building manufacturers and mobile welfare cabin builders.

These individually designed diesel sets are very quiet and compact, making them ideally suited for installation into many varied types of portable buildings and vehicles. They are available in a power band from 2.0 to 19kVA, in single and three-phase configurations, with noise levels as low as 58 dba.

Each Voyager generator has a remote start facility with an emergency shutdown system for high engine temperature and low oil pressure. All the routine servicing compartments are easily accessed and the complete unit is housed in a sound proofed steel canopy.

“We believe that supplying the generator is only 50% of the job,” stated Phil Wayman, GenSet’s generator business development manager. “The remaining 50% is making sure that the customer is entirely satisfied with the installation procedures, coupled together with the on-going maintenance of the set. In short, the Voyager range will give us the opportunity to demonstrate our superior back-up service and introduce the GenSet customer care philosophy into new markets,” concluded Phil.

Phil went on, “We anticipate that the Voyager range will be of considerable interest to the expanding self-contained portable building industry and with the manufacturers of vehicles equipped with mains powered equipment.”

GenSet plc are a market leader in the provision of generators, lighting towers and welders to the UK rental market. The company has recently unveiled their new Technical Support and Training Centre, housed within a 30,000sq.ft facility. This centre draws together training, maintainance, repairs and nationwide on-site service facilties, via a team of twenty in-house personnel and ten field service technicians.
